Broadwell Air Dome Stadium uses 3 layers of membrane material, which are integrated with Broadwell's patent Air Tightness Technology and an electronically controlled Air Interactive system, creating a premium space to save energy. This Air Dome structure has a Great Thermal Insulation Feature, which will greatly save costs for energy consumption, and it is cold-bridge proof.

The top of the membrane material adopts a transparent design, which allows daylight to penetrate through to save energy consumption.

Air Inflated Structures will be exposed to danger if it is not equipped with the bias pro system, because the forces can not be transferred to the cable system or other places, all the weight will be pressured on the membrane material, which may destroy the integrity of the Air Dome structure.

What will ensure the security of the Air Inflated Structure? If the air-inflated structure is not equipped with Bias Pro systems, what will happen to the structure?

Forces are being concentrated, the load on the membrane material will be much higher; Tensile forces which imposed on the membrane material will be greater, there is no additional protection to make sure the stability of the Air Inflated structure, therefore without reinforcement of Bias Pro Systems, Air Inflated structure does not have additional protection which may cause significant financial loss(Possible deflation) . The effect of Bias Pro will reduce the load weight on the membrane material. This system will transfer partial weight on the structure to the Bias Pro System to protect the structure from getting deflated.

Let me give you an example: For Air Dome, which is not equipped with Bias Pro Systems, when the width(span) reaches 35.966 meters, the load weight on the membrane Fabric reaches 2574.5 kg/M; the Pressure on membrane material will be so big which will possible lead to catastrophic incidents. For an air Dome equipped with Bias Pro Systems, when the width(Span) is the same, the load force laid on the Fabric will be reduced to 186.6 kg/M. Bias Pro system will be able to evenly distribute the forces, which will release the burden on the membrane material, which will improve the wind & snow resistant feature. Our Fabric Material covers the entire structure. Bias Pro can effectively distribute the membrane load force caused by the internal pressure rise. (The chart below provides details about the difference between the Air Dome structure with the Bias Pro system and the Air Dome structure without the Bias Pro system.)

With the Cable Harness system, the forces can be evenly distributed on the membrane material. This chart shows how cable harnesses reduce stress on the membrane material and transfer it to the Bias Pro System.

Here is how stress is being calculated: these Data and design procedures developed in the same report are applied to calculate the maximum fabric stresses.

The radius of the structure, which is needed in the calculation, is obtained from the width and height, Max. Dimensionless circumferential stress . Maximum dimensionless longitudinal stress .

Two purposes are served when an air-supported structure is reinforced with a cable harness:

The fabric load can be reduced by an order of magnitude.

The reinforcing cables are structural members that must be selected in accordance with the loads carried by them.
