When OPPO reached its 30-year milestone, the moment called for a venue as forward-looking as the brand itself. On September 17, 2025, a custom-engineered, large-scale, high-spec air dome by Broadwell became the signature stage of the anniversary gala—leveraging multiple proprietary technologies to reset expectations for temporary large celebration architecture.
Purpose-built for the anniversary, the structure measures 165 meters in length, 60 meters in width, 20 meters in height—covering 9,900 square meters. Its rapid deployment underscored one of the core advantages of air-supported systems: fast delivery without compromising performance.
At its core is a dual-membrane system reinforced by a diagonal mesh steel cable array. Broadwell’s patented cold-bridge-free welding technology enhances insulation and energy efficiency while increasing resilience in extreme weather conditions. The patented Bias-Pro Diagonal Orthogonal Steel Cable Hardness System acts as the structural “musculature,” distributing loads evenly into the foundation and delivering outstanding wind resistance.
1. Operating internal pressure: 250–300 Pa
2. Extreme weather mode: Up to 500 Pa (sufficient to withstand typhoon conditions exceeding Beaufort Force 16)
Enclosed membrane volumes traditionally present acoustic challenges: frequency coloration, sound focusing, flutter, and stray echoes. Broadwell’s independently developed EchoGuard360® system is a targeted solution—combining broadband absorption strategy, zoned material pairing, and precision acoustic modeling to neutralize those defects at the source and elevate performance to professional live-event standards.
Deployed inside the OPPO 30th Anniversary dome:
1. Average absorption coefficient raised from <0.5 to >0.7 across key frequency bands
2. Reverberation and reflected sound fields are optimized
3. Speech Transmission Index achieved a “good” clarity rating
The result: transparent, intelligible, and interference-free sound that seamlessly supported live band performance, executive keynotes, and video playback—earning strong praise from the OPPO team and evidencing shared values of innovation and quality.
Intelligent Acoustic Detailing:
1. 3,932 pieces of lightweight absorbers (<2 kg/m²) avoid unnecessary structural load
2. Meet B1 fire classification and E1 environmental standards
3. Material selection varied between membrane zones and wall interfaces for localized tuning
4. Full spatial coverage achieved via computational modeling—no “dead” pockets
5. Refined gray absorber finish integrates visually, doubling as a design enhancement
The dome is not a one-off showpiece; it is a multi-use platform adaptable for performances, conferences, ceremonies, and sports-entertainment activations. It reflects OPPO’s forward vision for flexible, future-ready corporate environments—and showcases Broadwell’s capability in multifunctional air-supported venue engineering.
OPPO’s three-decade journey has been defined by resilience and relentless innovation. Broadwell is honored to celebrate that legacy with a project emblematic of China’s—and the world’s—advancing high-end air dome technologies. This collaboration is both a technical showcase and a convergence of two industry leaders around innovation, quality, and future ambition.
Broadwell: delivering high-end air-supported architectural solutions for every brand’s defining moment.
